I highly recommend weighing the benefits and risks of breast implant surgery; below you will find the risks as well as the benefits that come along with breast implant surgeries:
Risks- As with any type of surgery breast implants poses a number of risks both to your health and physical appearance. Some women may experience a change in breast, and nipple sensations, meaning your breasts and or nipples may become extremely sensitive, or even painful to the slightest touch.
Extrusion is also a risk after breast implant surgery. For those who are not familiar with the term, extrusion is when the skin around the breast begins to break down. This causes the breast implant to become visible through the skin.
Breast implants are also known to rupture over 40% of patients reported a rupture to the breast implant. Ruptures may lead to potentially serious infections which in return may require additional surgeries.
Rippling of the implant also occurs in a number of patients. A wrinkling/rippling effect can be felt as well as seen on the breasts. Cases range from moderate to severe; the only way to correct the wrinkling effect is again additional surgery.
Infections such as TSS also known as Toxic Shock Syndrome are also possible. Breast implants are a foreign object to the body, there is a 40% chance that the wound (incision) may come in contact with bacteria and or fungi which could possibly be fatal. Unfortunately, in many cases the infection cannot be treated with an antibiotic therefore, the implant must be removed.
Lymphoma is also a potential risk; lymphoma occurs when the lymphoid glands become swollen. In this case you may experience a great deal of pain and or irritation of the breasts as well as surrounding areas.
*The above are only some of the risks that are presented when undergoing breast implant surgeries*
Feeling confident and beautiful is a wonderful thing. Many women unfortunately, do not feel confident or beautiful before their breast implant surgeries.
